The boys in Dearborn have been hiding a big secret in their R&D labs and today that secret comes roaring out of its cage to take on the world's exotics. We're talking about the next generation Ford GT and it certainly looks worthy of the name.
The new GT will be powered by their most powerful version of their EcoBoost yet, a twin-turbo 3.5L V6 that will put out 600 hp. No official performance numbers are available as of this writing, but the car will be have an impressive power-to-weight ratio with a body that features a generous dosage of aluminum and carbon fiber. The car will hit production next year in time for the 50th anniversary of the Ford GT placing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd at the 24 hours of Le Mans in 1966.
