iOS Tips: How to Open new Links in the Background using Safari for iPhone/iPod Touch.
1. Open Settings app
2. Scroll down to Safari
3. Tap Open Links and choose In Background
Now, when you are in Safari, tapping and holding on a link will give you the option to Open in Background.
